Exemptions for Illegal Residents in Kuwait Extended to the End of February | Pravasi | Deshabhimani

KUWAIT CITY: The government has decided to extend the amnesty until the end of February. This was reported by the local media.

The general period, which was until December 31, was extended to January 31 in the wake of the corona expansion and subsequent travel ban. The government has decided to extend it again due to travel difficulties.

At present, there are an estimated 1.80 lakh illegal immigrants in the country. Of these, only about 2,500 have so far availed themselves of amnesty, according to the Ministry of Human Resources. The security forces have not carried out adequate inspections during this period to find illegal occupants. A meeting of various security forces convened yesterday warned that a nationwide inspection would begin from February.
