Extortion of ransom by holding in love trap, arrest including women 3

The police have arrested three people, including a woman, on charges of holding them in a love trap and extorting ransom. On Wednesday (31) they were arrested in Jintala Mallikpara of Chuadanga Municipal area.

The arrested are Nayan Ahmed (32) of Jintala Mallikpara, his wife Rashti Khatun (30) and son Asif Ahmed of Badar Ali.

According to police sources, Matiur Rahman (32), son of the deceased Naushad Ali of Tarapur village of Shibganj police station in Chapainawabganj, lives in Darshana Danepara of Chuadanga. A few days ago, he met Raini Khatun, Nayan’s wife of Jintala Mallikpara of Chuadanga Municipal area, on Facebook. On the evening of May 26, Rain called Motiur to a secluded house in Baganpara.

Later, he was held hostage and demanded 1 lakh taka for ransom. At one stage, they released Motiur after paying 28,000 rupees to the fraudsters. Later, Matiur filed a case against the accused at Chuadanga Sadar Police Station. The police arrested the accused on Wednesday after investigating the incident.

Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahabur Rahman Kajal confirmed the arrest of the three. He said that the accused have been arrested and sent to court in the related case.
