F1: Daniel Ricciardo “I was jealous of Verstappen competing for the title”[F1-Gate .com]

Daniel Ricciardo of McLaren F1 was a little jealous of the exciting F1 title battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Ricardo wants to be able to do such a title fight and wants to do it at McLaren.

Daniel Ricciardo was known as one of the best drivers in F1. He entered F1 with Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing, but he joined Red Bull Racing shortly after the team’s successful season was over.

Daniel Ricciardo then left Red Bull to move to Renault F1, and two years later he chose McLaren as his new project. But in 2021, things didn’t go as expected.

Therefore, Daniel Ricciardo is not happy with his first season at McLaren. He enjoyed some great moments, including his victory at Monza, but was comfortably surpassed by Lando Norris throughout the season. That wasn’t what Grand Prix winners expected in the 8th inning.

But Daniel Ricciardo said he found a nice family in McLaren and had a tough season but got the support he needed from the new team.

Daniel Ricciardo said he really liked the love he got at McLaren, although he was tough under Helmut Marko in Red Bull, and hopes McLaren’s project will be successful.

“I’m not hunting to go to a better team. I’ve changed a lot in recent years, but I love McLaren and want to make this project a success.”

Still, Daniel Ricciardo says he was jealous of the duel between Verstappen and Hamilton.

“Of course, I’m jealous of that. The two (Lewis and Max) were in a special showdown at 75 percent of the race. I wanted to be part of that.”

“It’s been a long time since Hamilton was so challenged. It’s great that two drivers from different generations are competing.”
