F1: The first message Kimi Raikkonen sent to Romain Grosjean[F1-Gate .com]

Former F1 driver Romain Grosjean reveals an anecdote about the first message sent by his new teammate Kimi Raikkonen when he joined Lotus in 2012.

Lotus has renewed its driver lineup for the 2021 season. 2007 F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen has returned to F1 for the first time in two years, and Romain Grosjean will enter his first full season in F1.

The partnership between Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean was successful, with the two of them winning 10 podiums, including Kimi Raikkonen’s victory at the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Ten years after that season, Romain Grosjean looked back on his “open” and “straightforward” relationship with his former teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

“His conversation was definitely the opposite of his career. It’s short!” Romain Grosjean told IntheFastLane.

“But it was open. We were able to share everything and it was a pretty good relationship.”

“I remember he sent me a text message when my subscription was announced. It was late 2011.”

“The text message said,’Congratulations. Let’s do nothing stupid between us. See you soon.'”

“It was just you. In short, it wasn’t a long sentence, he just wanted to run and have a fun race. I admire him.”

“In the last few years he hasn’t had a good car and he’s only done what he can, but it’s clear that you’re one of the greatest drivers in the last 20 years.”

Kimi Raikkonen has decided to retire from F1 only this season, and from next season he will be in a position to see F1 from the outside like Romain Grosjean.

Romain Grosjean missed the opportunity to say goodbye at the final Grand Prix after a big crash in which the car burned at last year’s F1 Bahrain Grand Prix.

Romain Grosjean was burned, especially on his left hand, in the accident, but it didn’t stop the race. Grosjean, who turned to IndyCar this year, has been active since the first year and will be transferred to the prestigious Andretti Autosport in 2022.

“My right hand is almost 100 percent healed, but it’s brand new skin, so I need to apply sunscreen when it’s in the sun,” said Romain Grosjean.

“My left hand is a little more damaged. I still have to do skin grafting in early November, and I may have another skin graft in 2022, so I still have a little work to do.

“It’s never perfect. It’s a pain, but it’s learning to deal with it. It’s not a big pain, but it’s always there.”

“For fairness, I can play with my kids and drive a car. I can live almost normally. There are some restrictions, but 95 percent. I think it will work. “

“It doesn’t look good, but it’s my medal.”
