Fair Trade Commission Chairman Cho Seong-wook said on the 15th that regarding the ‘Online Platform Fairness Act,’ which the government and ruling parties are pushing to enact, “This law is very weak (regulation) than the US platform law.”
Chairman Cho mentioned this to Rep. Kim Byung-wook of the Democratic Party of Korea who asked for his position on the bill in a question about the government in the afternoon of the same day, and said, “Korea’s online platform fairness law actually focuses on maintaining the dynamism of the platform industry and the importance of innovation. there,” he explained.
Chairman Cho said, “The Fair Trade Commission will protect 1.8 million small and medium-sized businesses, so that platform companies and retailers can innovate and grow at the same time.”
