Fair Trade Commission, field investigation of ‘bomb return fee’…尹The crime of touching the government’s top priority ‘price stabilization’

‘Luxury platform’ Balan, controversy over trick raises
17% discount coupon to raise the price

The Fair Trade Commission conducted an on-site investigation into the luxury platform Balan, which raised the controversy over the ‘bomb return cost’. It is expected that the KFTC’s sanctions will be sharp in that Balan violated the price stability that the Yoon Seok-Yeol administration had put as a top priority.

According to the industry on the 20th, the Fair Trade Commission recently sent investigators to the Balan headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul to conduct an on-site investigation. The Fair Trade Commission is said to be looking into allegations of violations of the E-Commerce Act by Balan. Complaints that the return cost is excessive among consumers who have previously purchased items through Balan have arisen one after another. Even if you order an overseas product and cancel the purchase before shipping begins, you will be charged a return fee of up to hundreds of thousands of won.

The Fair Trade Commission is said to be examining whether Balan properly guarantees consumers’ right to withdraw their subscription. Recently, there was a controversy that Balaan deceived consumers in the process of running a 17% discount coupon event after appearing in the YouTube content ‘Nego King’. As the product price has risen, even applying a discount coupon has virtually no effect on the discount.

In response, Balaan explained, “There was an error in the price fluctuation of some products during the development and distribution of the 17% discount coupon.”
