Fed, March interest rate hike undecided = Chairman Powell | Reuters

[ニューヨーク 8日 ロイター] – Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will testify before the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday, and a decision is almost certain at the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) on March 21-22. Officials have not yet made a decision on the size of the proposed rate increase, he said.

“We haven’t made any decisions about the March meeting yet,” he said. “We’re not going to make a decision until we see additional data,” which will be released before the next FOMC meeting, he said.

“We are not on a predetermined path,” he said, adding that future data will determine whether a 0.25 percentage point or 0.50 percentage point hike is needed at the next meeting.
