Ferrari F1 team representative Mattia Binotto says he is inspiring the team with a “clear goal” to defeat McLaren in the 2021 Constructors’ Championship to take third place.

Ferrari outperformed its rival McLaren in the previous F1 Turkish Grand Prix, but McLaren is still in third place with a 7.5-point lead for the F1 US Grand Prix this weekend.

Ferrari F1 has improved its performance in recent races, and the battle with McLaren aiming for 3rd place in the ranking is intensifying.

Mattia Binotto tells the team that it is imperative to reach third place in the ranking in 2021 and says that goal is driving the team’s energy.

“It’s certainly the goal we’ve already told the team,” said Mattia Binotto.

“Everyone is working for that. It’s great to finish in 3rd place.”

“It’s even more important for us to work with clear goals by the end of the season, because we work under pressure and it’s training.”

“Therefore, our goal is to finish in 3rd place at the end of the season.”

At the F1 Russian Grand Prix, Ferrari F1 was fully prepared to introduce a new hybrid system to be installed in the 2022 F1 power unit.

Charles Leclerc was talking about a slight gain in Sochi, but Carlos Sainz, who received a new component in Turkey, had Ferrari build a “small advantage” over McLaren in the final leg of the 2021 season. I hope it will help you to charge P3 in the championship.

“It was faster (in Turkey) than McLaren,” commented Carlos Sainz.

“In Sochi, they were faster than us, so I think they’ll still go up and down until the end of the season.”

“Depending on what this engine gives us, I think there may be some circuits that we get a little closer to behind them, while others that we are in front of may probably be a little higher.”

“This is what we’ve been looking for since we pushed the upgrade, and we hope it gives us a small advantage to make the fight a bit more complicated.”

“(In Turkey) we managed to reduce 10 points, which is a pretty big reduction in the points we are fighting.”

“We are fighting and we have 6 races left, but anything can happen.”
