Pierre Gasly (Scuderia AlphaTauri) ended the session after suffering an air intake fire during the second free practice session of the F1 Singapore GP.
Pierre Guthrie, who started running on medium tyres, switched to soft tyres, ran 6 laps, finished 13th, and returned to the pits with 20 minutes remaining.
Initially, there was no problem, and the AlphaTauri F1 mechanics were proceeding with the work of putting Pierre Gasly’s machine in the garage as usual, but suddenly a fire broke out from the air intake. A fire extinguisher was quickly extinguished by the rival Aston Martin crew, but Gasly’s session ended there.
AlphaTauri F1 also ended the session after a problem with Yuki Tsunoda’s fuel system occurred.
