Doha: Qatar has announced the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, hosting the FIFA Arab Cup. Al Bayt Stadium is the venue for this year’s inaugural match on November 30 and the final on December 18. The Al Bayt Stadium, modeled on traditional Arab tents, is also the inaugural venue for the FIFA World Cup.

The kickoff of the Arab Cup will also be the inauguration of the Al Bayt Stadium, which is 100 per cent complete. Sixteen teams from the Arab-African region will compete in the tournament.

The inaugural match will be between hosts Qatar and Bahrain on November 30. The Supreme Committee has announced that the stadiums of Al Tumama and Ras Bo Aboud will also be inaugurated as venues for the Arab Cup.

The Ras Boo Aboud Stadium, built using shipping containers, is the first stadium in history to be completely demolished after the World Cup. The Arab Cup will also be played in Ryan, Education City and Al Janoub.

The qualifiers for the Arab Cup were already over in Qatar. Nine teams, including host Qatar, qualified directly, while eight teams were selected for the tournament through a one-match qualifying round.

Fixture Ready

The fixture of the match for the Arab Cup is ready. The inaugural match between Qatar and Bahrain will be played at 1 pm. On the same day, there are matches at 4pm, 7pm and 10pm. The final is at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the Arab Cup will be available online from today. Tickets can be purchased through the FIFA website.
