Doha : Qatar is the Asian country again in the World Cup. Asian powerhouse Iran earned their first win in Qatar with two uncontested goals in the battle against Wales. Iran scored both goals in injury time. After Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was sent off, the European nation faced pressure from the Asian giants.

Gareth Bale and his team were shocked when Iran scored two goals in a row with seconds left in the game. Rausebeh Cheshmi scored for Iran in the 98th minute and Ramin in the 101st minute. In the first half of the game, both teams were equal without scoring a goal.

Wales dominated the contest throughout. But in the 86th minute, Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was sent off with a red card before Iran scored the winning goals in the last seconds. Hennessey became the first player to receive a red card at the Qatar World Cup. Hennessy’s attempt to defend Iran forward Mehdi Taremi was moved from outside the box after being fouled. The referee then gave a red card and instructed the player from Wales to leave the field.

With the win, Iran moved up to second place in the points table in Group B. England and USA will meet in Group B today. USA England match at Al Bait Stadium tonight at midnight. In other matches, Qatar will face Senegal and the Netherlands will face Ecuador.
