Doha : The Qatar World Cup controversy is becoming a sequel. Morocco, the African team, defeated Belgium, who are second in the FIFA rankings. Morocco is 22nd in the ranking list. The North African side demolished Belgium with two unanswered goals. The win saw Morocco top Group F with four points.
Belgium dominated the game by keeping the ball in hand and passing, but forgot to score. On the right wing, the Belgian defenders struggled to contain forwards Hakim Ziak and Hakimi. Morocco’s winning goals came in the second half. Moments before the end of the first half, Morocco shook Belgium’s net, but the goal was pulled back through War.

In the 73rd minute, Abdelhamid Sabiri broke the deadlock and put the African nation ahead through a corner kick. Belgium then tried to equalize but that goal was not scored. Rumelu Lukaku Trossard, who was on the bench due to injury, was brought on as a substitute, but the second place in the FIFA ranking list did not get a draw.
Meanwhile, with just seconds left in the game, Morocco’s second goal sealed Belgium’s defeat. In the 92nd minute, Hakim Ziak took advantage of a mistake in Belgium’s defense and rushed to the European team’s goal post. Siak then passed the ball to teammate Zakaria Abukhalal through a pass break. Akuhalal converted it past Thibaut Courtois.
This is Morocco’s third victory in the history of the World Cup. This is also the first victory for a North African team since the 1998 World Cup. And for the first time since the 1998 World Cup, Morocco won with a clean sheet. Morocco drew with Croatia in the first game of the tournament in Qatar.
