Manama> Qatar’s Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, the inaugural venue for the World Cup, and Stadium 974 in Ras Abu Aboud have been dedicated to the nation. The Al Bayt Stadium was inaugurated by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in front of a crowd of 60,000 in the presence of Arab leaders and the President of FIFA. The inauguration ceremony was graced by spectacles and fireworks displaying the culture and heritage of Qatar.

The Al Bayt Stadium, built on the model of Beit Al-Shar, the tent of traditional Arab tribes, was inaugurated and dedicated to the nation during the FIFA Arab Cup. In the opening match, Qatar defeated Bahrain by one goal.

It is located 46 km from the capital Doha. Built on 14 lakh square meters with state-of-the-art facilities, the stadium can accommodate 60,000 people. Outside the stadium, the sprawling Al Bayt Park offers spectators entertainment and relaxation.

Al Bayt will host five matches in the 16-team Arab Cup, including the final on December 18, and nine matches in next year’s FIFA World Cup, including the opening match on November 21.

Shortly after the inauguration of Al Bait, the stadium at Ras Abu Aboud 974 was dedicated to Nadu. Located four kilometers from Hamad International Airport, the stadium has a seating capacity of 40,000. 974 shipping containers were used for the construction of the stadium. In addition, Qatar’s ISD code is 974. This is why the stadium is named 974. It is the world’s first removable stadium.

In the first match played here, the UAE defeated Syria by two goals to one. The stadium will host six matches in the Arab Cup.
