Financial Supervisory Service resumes on-site advice on fintech, which was suspended due to COVID-19

The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 27th that it has resumed the fintech on-site advisory service, which had been suspended since March 2020 due to COVID-19.

Experts from the advisory group reside 2-3 times a week at the Korea Fintech Support Center in Gongdeok-dong, Seoul, and provide advisory services to fintech companies and prospective founders.

The main contents of consulting are △registration, licensing, business model-related regulations, general financial regulations, △regulatory sandbox application, and △listening of difficulties.

In the future, the company plans to promote the on-site advisory method that directly visits fintech companies in parallel.

The Financial Supervisory Service established an on-site advisory group of 13 experts in June 2017 to help fintech startups respond to complex and rapidly changing financial regulations.

Since the establishment of the advisory group, a total of 328 consultations have been provided, including 226 general advisory sessions and 67 regulatory sandbox consulting sessions. During the corona period, we provided non-face-to-face advice through email and phone calls.

The FSS plans to help fintech companies commercialize innovative ideas through on-site advisory services.

You can apply for advice on the ‘Fine’ website, a financial consumer information portal.
