SALEM, Oregon (STORYFUL) – A rescue team was rescued in Salem, Oregon, a cat trapped in the high flood waters that brought heavy rain in the area on 12 April.

Salem Fire Department shared footage of the rescue on its Facebook page. The cat is visible on top of a wooden post and one of the firefighters is approaching him and the cat jumped into the water. The firefighter brings the cat, who creates a struggle, and manages to bring the cat into a lifeboat where another man returns the cat in a jacket.

Captain Andrew Grimmer told the local media that the cat was released to higher ground and ran away immediately after he was rescued.
