Doha : Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey receives his first red card of the World Cup in Qatar. Today on November 25, the referee had to issue the first red card in Qatar in the match between Wales and Iran. In the 85th minute of the game, the Welsh goalkeeper was fouled when he tried to stop the movement of the Iranian forward, Mehdi Taremi. Guatemalan referee Mario Escobar then handed Hennessy his first red card of the tournament after being checked by Warr.

Initially, the referee Escobar only gave a yellow card for a foul on the Welsh goalkeeper. Then, at the request of the Iranian players, the referee gave Hennessy a straight red card and instructed him to go out.

Meanwhile, Wales lost by two goals after Hennessey was sent off in the game. The Wales goalkeeper returned to the changing room after receiving a red card in the 86th minute with the game goalless. Then, playing with ten men, Wales defended until the last minute but conceded two goals with seconds left in the game. With Hennessy out, Wales coach Rob Page withdrew midfielder Aaron Ramsey and replaced him with Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward.

Rausebeh Cheshmi in the 98th minute and Ramin in the 101st minute scored the goals for Iran. Wales dominated the contest throughout. But when Hennessy was sent off after seeing a red card, the Asian team’s attack on the Welsh box intensified.

With the win, Iran moved up to second place in the points table in Group B. England and USA will meet in Group B today. USA England match at Al Bait Stadium tonight at midnight. In other matches, Qatar will face Senegal and the Netherlands will face Ecuador.
