As the rain cloud belt moved north, a heavy rain advisory was issued in the evening for northern regions such as Paju, Pocheon, and Yeoncheon in Gyeonggi-do.
After dawn, the rain cloud belt rises towards the North and shows a short calm period.
In the late afternoon, heavy rain of 50 mm or more per hour is expected in Seoul and the metropolitan area, and rain is also expected in Chungcheong, Jeonbuk and the northern regions of Gyeongbuk from the night.
The Korea Meteorological Administration urged preparedness, saying, “The ground has been weakened by a lot of rain recently, so there is concern about damage in areas with additional heavy rain.”
Among the 14 deaths and 6 missing due to heavy rain for a week, 8,911 houses and 1,457 hectares of agricultural land were counted as flooded.
