JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CNN) – A Florida neighborhood is in shock and pain after a tragedy.
A two-year-old Florida boy died this weekend after family members say the boy accidentally shot himself.
As night falls, it's back to normal for all except for one family at the Morningside Apartments.
Earlier, police tape surrounded the entrance as a two-year-old little boy was found shot inside of a home.
Family members say the boy's name is Jayden.
His mother is taking the news hard, according to family.
Police have confirmed the child died.
Leeadriea Farmer, a friend of family stated, "One thing I could say is she loves her kids. That's all she got. She does not have any family down here. Her kids. She goes beyond and overboard for Jayden. her heart. "
Family members say Jayden grabbed someone's gun inside of these apartments.
His mother was visiting a friend.
Police say they do not have any wanted suspects and they're interviewing those involved.
The child's godmother, Toni Baber said, "I'm hurt. I'm in shock. There's really no explanation on how I can describe what I'm feeling. I'm torn right now because we are all she has. all her kids have. "
As this family waits anxiously for answers about what happened, police are warning parents to keep guns secured.
