Former leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have met in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. Fawad Chaudhry, Amir Kayani, Imran Ismail and Maulvi Mahmood are among those who met Shah Mehmood.
Sources say that former PTI leaders tried to persuade Shah Mehmood Qureshi to leave the party.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Fawad Chaudhry said that he believes that action will be taken against the people involved in the May 9 incidents as per the law. It can be left with the support of the parties included in PDM, this government cannot be left open like this without the opposition.
He said that there has been a detailed discussion with the former leaders of PTI, Ali Zaidi, Pervez Khattak, Asad Umar, Farrukh Habib and Atif Khan have been contacted, Shah Mehmood Qureshi who came here for a meeting had a detailed discussion, we believe. That Pakistan has to move towards a stable solution.
Fawad Chaudhry said that whatever happened was our collective responsibility, it is also our responsibility to release our innocent workers from jails.
It should be noted that Fawad Chaudhry, Amirakiani, Imran Ismail and Maulvi Mehmood had announced their withdrawal from the party and politics.
