Former President Clinton discharged from hospital

[아시아경제 권재희 기자] Former US President Bill Clinton was discharged from hospital six days later.

According to CNBC on the 17th (local time), former President Clinton was discharged from the hospital at around 8 a.m. on the same day at Irvine University Hospital in California. Former President Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, left the hospital arm in arm, shaking hands with medical staff and taking pictures. He raised his thumb to a reporter’s question about his condition.

“President Clinton’s body temperature and white blood cell count have returned to normal,” said Alpeci Amin, Clinton’s doctor, in a statement.

Former President Clinton will return to New York to complete antibiotic treatment.


Former President Clinton, 75, was hospitalized for treatment on the 12th (local time) for urinary-related inflammation that had spread to the bloodstream.

It is said that there was no septic shock, a life-threatening situation.

Former President Clinton said all health symptoms are improving. He was accompanied by his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and daughter Chelsea, while in the hospital.

Earlier, it was reported that former President Clinton was admitted to the intensive care unit, raising concerns in the local media about his health.

After retiring from the presidency in 2001, Clinton underwent cardiovascular bypass surgery in 2004, lung disease surgery in 2005, and stent surgery for coronary artery dilatation in 2010. He enjoyed high-fat foods, but after frequent illness, he switched to a vegetarian diet in 2010.
