Former U.S. Senator Bob Dole dies

Former Senator Bob Dole, a prominent politician and former Republican presidential nominee, has died at the age of 98 on the 5th local time.

Former Congressman Dole is known as a symbol of World War II veterans and a figure who dominated the era as a tycoon of American conservatism.

In 1993, during the Bill Clinton administration, he was hard-lined about the North Korean nuclear crisis.

According to CNN broadcasts, former lawmaker Dol publicly announced in February that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
