Former US President Clinton hospitalized for ‘urinary tract infection’ symptoms, discharged soon

Former US President Bill Clinton, who was hospitalized with symptoms of a urinary tract infection, is expected to be discharged soon.

“Ex-President Clinton has made great progress over the past 24 hours,” said former President Clinton’s spokesman Angel Ureña in a statement posted on Twitter on the 16th (local time). After that, he is expected to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow (17th).” “President Clinton is spending time with family and friends and watching college football matches,” Ureña said.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also visited the hospital. CNN reported that former Secretary Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton visited the hospital on the morning of the 16th. Sources told CNN that Vice President Kamala Harris, former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Al Gore had phone calls with former President Clinton on the same day. President Joe Biden spoke on the phone with former President Clinton on the 15th.

Former President Clinton felt fatigue on the 12th and visited the University of California (UC) Irvine Hospital. The hospital explained the reason for being admitted to the intensive care unit, “not because of a serious health condition, but to protect privacy and ensure safety.” Former President Clinton, aged 75, underwent cardiovascular bypass surgery in 2004 and coronary artery dilation in 2010.
