Kollam : The boat capsized at Azhikkal (Boat Accident) Four people died. The fishing boat capsized near Ochira. The incident took place around 10.30 am today. The accident happened just 10 nautical miles from Azhikkal Harbor. The fishing boat Omkaram capsized.
Sunil Dutt, Sudevan, Thankappan and Sreekumar died in the accident. The accident happened while returning to shore after fishing. Twelve people were injured in the accident and were admitted to hospital. All of them have been admitted to hospitals in Kayamkulam, Ochira and Karunagapally.

There were sixteen people in the boat. The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the mortuary at Karunagapally Taluk Hospital. According to reports, Kanu, Aravindan, Rinu, Aneesh, Soman, Riju, Biju, Baiju and Sumesh have been admitted to the hospital.

The boat set out for fishing this morning. According to reports, the boat capsized at around 10.30 am. But police confirmation about the accident has not yet come. Seven of the survivors have been admitted to Kayamkulam Taluk Hospital. Two people have also been admitted to a hospital in Ochira.

Reports say everyone’s health is satisfactory. The capsized boat Omkara belongs to a native of Arattupuzha. But there are allegations that the Coastal Police did not come to the rescue despite the accident. The fishermen have come forward with allegations.
