After the death of a worker, a boycott of SPC products spreads.

Although not only directly managed stores but also franchisees suffered damage, the store owners expressed their sympathy for the outrage at the accident.

At an SPC-affiliated bakery in Seoul, the number of customers has dropped significantly even on a weekend afternoon.

This is because the boycott is growing, saying that bread production continues even after the accident in the factory where the accident happened.

“The things we sell are manufactured and sold in stores. The products produced on that factory line are currently out of stock (not shipped).”

The Franchise Owners Association, a group of self-employed business owners who run Paris Baguette stores, said sales dropped by 20 to 30 percent after the crash.

The council expressed sympathy for this, saying, “It is painful for franchisees who continue to make a living, but it is nothing more than a disgrace to customers for creating safe jobs.”

“I will act as an internal watchdog so that workers can produce bread in a safe workplace,” he said.

However, the boycott appears to be strengthening in response to SPC’s inexperienced response.

Following the delivery of Paris Baguette bread to the deceased’s funeral home, it was later confirmed that more than 40,000 sandwiches made with a sauce made in the same factory on the day of the accident had been delivered to Paris Croissant distribution centers across the country.
