Francisca García-Huidobro is transitioning to a new role at Chilevisión, moving from her position as a judge on Fiebre de Baile to lead the afternoon program Plan Perfecto. This shift follows a series of programmatic changes at the network, including the departure of Julio César Rodríguez.

According to reports from Sergio Marabolí on Sígueme, García-Huidobro has reached an agreement with network executives to take over the hosting duties of Plan Perfecto, a show currently led by Eduardo de la Iglesia. The strategic goal of this move is to strengthen celebrity news and entertainment, or farándula, as a central pillar of the network’s programming.

Programming Shifts at Chilevisión

The transition involves several adjustments to the network’s schedule. While García-Huidobro will exit her role in Fiebre de Baile, she is expected to maintain her hosting position on Primer Plano. Primer Plano is scheduled to return to its previous prime-time slot on Friday nights.

Other changes include Fiebre de Baile adding an extra broadcast day on Sunday nights. As a result of García-Huidobro taking over Plan Perfecto, Eduardo de la Iglesia will shift his focus to his role as co-host of the morning show Contigo en la Mañana alongside Andrea Aristegui.

Background on the Transition to Chilevisión

García-Huidobro’s arrival at Chilevisión in 2026 followed her departure from Mega. In a December 20, 2025, interview with José Antonio Neme on Only Fama, she detailed the motivations behind her exit from Mega, noting that she had the honor of helping inaugurate the entertainment area at that station.

During that interview, she revealed that she had considered resigning after the Viña del Mar festival due to a complex personal period. However, she postponed that decision after learning that colleagues she cared for, including Carlos Valencia, were joining Mega.

García-Huidobro also reflected on her time at Mega, expressing pride in becoming necessary in the reality show sector of the channel, though she admitted that this specific area brought various problems.

Career Impact and Integration

Upon joining Chilevisión in 2026, García-Huidobro quickly became one of the network’s most influential faces. Her rapid integration into the station’s high-profile projects led to her initial placement in the primetime stelar, though reports indicate she spent only a couple of months in that specific role before the current realignment of functions.

The current move to Plan Perfecto represents a continuation of the network’s effort to leverage her experience in entertainment and celebrity journalism to drive afternoon viewership.
