According to the quarantine authorities’ new ‘mask prevention guidelines’, you do not need to wear a mask in large markets, department stores, shopping malls, etc., but you must wear a mask in pharmacies in large markets.

On the other hand, hospitals and facilities that are open to infection are, in principle, places where masks must be worn, and masks must also be worn in gyms and locker rooms in the institution.

However, if you are in a private room in a hospital room or in a private area in a facility that is susceptible to resident-type infection, you can remove your mask as you are exempt from the fine.

There is no obligation to wear a mask in kindergartens, schools, or academies, but you must wear a mask in a school vehicle that corresponds to public transport.

In addition, it is necessary to check as local government can add the facilities that are subject to fines for not wearing masks indoors, so facilities that require wearing masks indoors may vary from region to region.

The government intends to review the adjustment of quarantine obligations at the time when the World Health Organization (WHO) raises the public health emergency COVID-19 and the level of the domestic emergency is adjusted.
