According to the ‘2023 Gwangju and Jeonnam Spring Temperature Characteristics’ published by the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, the average temperature in Gwangju and Jeonnam from March to May was 14 degrees, 1.4 degrees above normal, the highest since 1973 when weather observations began. .

The Korea Meteorological Administration analyzed, “Compared to normal years, it was often affected by migratory high pressure, and warm southerly winds often blew and the temperature rose.”

In particular, the average temperature in March was 10.2 degrees, 2.9 degrees above normal, and was found to have the greatest influence on the increase in spring temperatures.

During the same period, precipitation was 380.8 mm, more than the average of 272.2 to 344.3 mm, and the number of yellow dust days was 8.3 days, 3.3 days more than normal.
