The Fair Trade Commission announced on the 31st that the Korea Taekwondo Association had agreed to revise the review management regulations with the content of regularizing all examinations.

According to the examination management regulations, in principle, all taekwondo masters can receive promotion and promotion examinations.

The type of examination was divided into ‘regular examination’ for stamps registered with city/provincial associations and other ‘irregular examinations’.

Regular examinations for registered dojos were held several times a month, but the examination of unregistered dojos has only been held once for the past five years.

Because of this, taekwondo studios that could not be screened had difficulties in attracting trainees, and the Fair Trade Commission pointed out that registration of the association in the taekwondo studio market was virtually mandatory.

The Fair Trade Commission discovered this problem in June in the process of sanctioning the Seoul Taekwondo Association, which blocked membership in the Taekwondo Association operated by the sports center, and has been discussing ways to improve practices with the Korea Taekwondo Association.

As a result, the Korea Taekwondo Association decided to make both regular and irregular examinations regular from next year, and to announce the examination schedule in advance.

In consideration of the COVID-19 situation, details such as the method and number of specific screenings will be decided in a phased manner at a later date.
