[15日 ロイター] – Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has applied for bail in the Supreme Court of the Bahamas, sources with knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday.

A magistrates’ court in the Bahamas denied the defendant’s bail application on Thursday.

The defendant, who had asked to stay at home pending a hearing on his extradition to the United States for financial crimes, was remanded to a prison in the Bahamas.

The defendant applied for bail on Thursday, sources familiar with the matter said.

Bahamian broadcaster EyeWitness News reported on Thursday that the Supreme Court will hear his bail application on January 17 next year. He did not disclose the source of the information.
