Kanemura emerges as the top contender with good pitching in the university championship

On the 12th, the All Japan University Baseball Federation updated the list of applicants who submitted professional aspirations posted on the official website. The number of presenters increased from 50 to 71. Outfielder Ryu Sugisawa of Tohoku Fukushi University and pitcher Naomasa Kanamura of Fuji University were also presented, as well as players who are considered high-ranking candidates for baseball teams professional.

Kanemura is a right-hander with a top speed of 150 km/h. He also started in the All Japan University Championship this spring, and although he lost to Commerce University, he pitched well in the 10th inning, giving up one run, which raised the evaluation of professional baseball scouts.

Additionally, Sugisawa is a left-handed outfielder with excellent running and defense. 571 batting average, 4 homers, and 14 RBI in the league this spring. As a member of the Japanese university team, he also participated in the Harlem tournament held in the Netherlands.

The Japanese Takanoren also updated the list on its official website, with the number of submitters increasing from 50 to 65. Right-hander Teikyo Nagaoka (Niigata), pitcher Hidetoshi Ibaraki and others have submitted. Although Ibaraki lost to Nihon Bunri in the finals of this summer’s Niigata Prefecture tournament, its powerful pitch, which reaches a top speed of 147 km, is attracting attention.
