Thiruvananthapuram: Former KPCC general secretary G Rathikumar has left the Congress and joined the CPM. Rathikumar is a Congress leader from Kollam district. Senior CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan received Rathikumar at the AKG Center. Rathikumar was accompanied by CPM district secretary Sudev.
Kodiyeri scoffed that the condition of the KPCC was like putting a sack of salt in water. This is the first time three key leaders, including the KPCC general secretary, have resigned. Kodiyeri said that the fact that those who left the Congress are coming to the CPM is a proof of the general acceptance of the party.
Former KPCC general secretary KP Anilkumar, former KPCC secretary PS Prashanth and former Congress MLA AV Gopinath had earlier left the party. In this KP Anilkumar and PS Prashanth joined the CPM.
