Gang rape case; Former footballer Robinho has been sentenced to nine years in prison

Former footballer Robinho has been sentenced to nine years in prison for gang-rape. In 2013, he was charged with gang-raping a young woman at a nightclub in Milan. Both appeals in the 2017 case were dismissed. The Brazilian has since been jailed for playing for top clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester City. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

The incident took place in January 2013 when he was a member of the Italian club AC Milan. A 22-year-old Albanian woman was gang-raped by five men, including Robinho, at a nightclub in Milan. Robinho claimed that his physical contact with the young woman was consensual and that he had not had sex with her. However, the telephone messages sent by Robinho and his friends regarding the incident were crucial in the investigation of the case.
