[땡큐뉴스 / 이근우 기자] Former Manchester United legend Gary Neville has offered to sign Son Heung-min (30, Tottenham Hotspur).
British media ‘Football London’ reported on the 17th (local time): “Man Utd are keen to sign Harry Kane this summer, and Neville insisted that Son Heung-min should also be a target. The Tottenham duo had a great season and helped Antonio Conte reach the UEFA Champions League.”
Neville insisted on signing Manchester United’s Son Heung-min while appearing on ‘Monday Night Football’, a soccer-specialized program of ‘Sky Sports’, a British sports media. Neville said he could be a good player for United who want to sign a striker.
Heung-Min Son has recorded 21 goals and 7 assists in the English Premier League this season and is second in scoring after Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, 22 goals). He is also one of Tottenham’s only eight EPL Player of the Year nominations.
“The signing of Kane is 100% a good thing,” Neville said. He is a player who never disappoints. He scores even with few chances. But it will be difficult for United to sign Kane. If Kane is impossible, he should sign Heung-Min Son.”
“Man Utd has only one center forward since Anthony Martial left. “If Cristiano Ronaldo leaves or is removed from Manchester United, we need someone to fill his place.”
Meanwhile, Son Heung-min extended his contract with Tottenham last year until June 2025.
