GE Healthcare Korea, SKT and MOU for digital healthcare cooperation in Korea

GE Healthcare Korea and SK Telecom (hereinafter referred to as SKT) announced that they had signed a strategic partnership for the domestic healthcare digital infrastructure construction business.

Through this partnership, the two companies will cooperate in the exchange and operation of related technologies for the realization of digital healthcare solutions and commercialization of services. In particular, through the expansion of 5G-based hyper-connected services, mobile edge computing (MEC), and the supply of digital healthcare solutions and infrastructure owned by both companies, such as cloud, improve the operational performance and efficiency of medical institutions and provide better medical care for patients Support the provision of services and experiences.

First, SKT will build an in-hospital patient data network based on 5G MEC to realize ultra-low-latency medical services and smoothly supply large-capacity patient data. In addition, it builds the cloud that hospitals want and supports maintenance operation.

GE Healthcare provides ‘Mural’, an integrated remote monitoring solution for infection, severe and emergency patient data, ‘Edison Healthlink’, an edge computing technology for medical staff, and a mission control center that analyzes to increase hospital workflow. It is in charge of supplying AI and digital healthcare solutions and technical support, such as ‘Command Center’ of the role and ‘MUSE’, an electrocardiogram management solution.

Through this MOU, the two companies plan to implement the most efficient digital pathway in the healthcare field by convergence of GE healthcare medical equipment and digital solutions established in Korea with SKT’s infrastructure. In addition, it plans to focus on the spread of Mural, GE Healthcare’s virtual care solution, and the government’s digital healthcare business.
