General elections in Germany today. Incumbent Chancellor Angela Merkel is stepping down after 16 years, making Germany the world’s most watched election. The German people are voting to find a replacement for Angela Merkel, who has led 16 times in four terms. Merkel gently put Germany at the forefront of Europe in the face of intense crises.

She is a woman leader who has found her own solutions to the economic downturn, the refugee crisis and finally the Kovid epidemic. The vote will see 598 seats in 16 states, the first non – presidential election in German history. The world is looking for someone to replace. Merkel’s party, the Christian Democratic Union, is competing with another party, the Christian Social Union.

The coalition’s chancellor’s candidate is Angela Merkel’s strong spokesman, Armin Lachett. But the opposition Social Democratic Party and its leader, Olaf Scholes, are leading the vote. Analena Berbok is the Green Party’s chancellor’s candidate for environmental issues.
