Genesis Introduces New GV80 Design: A Luxurious and Advanced SUV

Genesis, the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai, unveiled its modified GV80 model and the GV80 Coupe at a media preview event held on the 26th. This marked the first time the domestic media got a glimpse of the car.

The GV80, which has already made waves in the luxury SUV market with over 170,000 units sold worldwide since its launch in January 2020, is the brand’s first SUV. The partially modified GV80 model is the first of its kind to be released in 3 years and 9 months, leaving users curious about the changes compared to its predecessor.

One of the notable improvements in the exterior is the enhanced sense of luxury. The front ridge grill now features a double mesh structure, giving the car a softer and more sophisticated appearance. The iconic two-line headlamp uses the advanced MLA (Micro Lens Array) method, which allows for clear display of low beams, high beams, daytime running lights, and turn signal lights.

The bumper has been transformed into a simple yet powerful design, removing the complexity of curved surfaces. The side air intakes now boast a design similar to other Genesis sports lines, emphasizing the SUV’s unique strength. The wider skid plate and an enlarged bumper grill further accentuate the car’s ruggedness.

The new GV80 also sports a stunning 20-inch multi-spoke wheel design. The rear, meanwhile, features a hidden type muffler, with a V-shaped chrome design inspired by the Genesis ridge grill, contributing to a futuristic aesthetic. The slim body-colored bottom of the rear bumper completes the vehicle’s bold and stable image.

Inside the car, a 27-inch panoramic display seamlessly connects the digital dashboard and touchscreen. The air conditioning system has been integrated, and a seamless center fascia design maximizes the “beauty of empty space” that Genesis aims to achieve. Additionally, the steering wheel design has been updated, the visibility of the smartphone wireless charging tray has been improved, and the console cup holder has been enlarged.

In terms of driving experience, the new GV80 introduces new features such as electronically controlled suspension preview, 2nd generation engine mount control unit, stability control crosswind, auto terrain mode, intake tires, and enhanced tailgate sound insulation performance. These technologies ensure a convenient and comfortable ride for passengers.

Furthermore, the new GV80 includes a wide range of advanced facilities and specifications. These include a digital center mirror, built-in step 2, independently controlled full auto air conditioner, digital key 2, and an indoor fingerprint authentication system. Other new features include a console armrest storage box with ultraviolet sterilization function, heated armrest, interior aroma system, second-row touch-type exterior handle sensor, a Wooseok 14.6-inch smart entertainment system, and the Porrimium Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Genesis plans to start selling the new GV80 on October 11th, allowing luxury SUV enthusiasts to experience its luxurious and advanced features.
