[ベルリン ７日 ロイター] – The Security Council of the German government approved the delivery of 178 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine. Sources confirmed the report in Der Spiegel on Wednesday.
“The export of 178 Leopard 1s has been approved,” said a source familiar with the matter. It is said that the number to be provided is higher than before.
Der Spiegel reports that while some will arrive this summer, the majority will arrive next year.
Earlier, Armin Pappelger, chief executive of German defense giant Rheinmetall, which makes Leopard tanks, said Ukraine would deliver 20 to 25 Leopard 1s this year and 88 next year.
On this day, German Defense Minister Pistorius made an unannounced visit to Kyiv (Kyiv), the capital of Ukraine.
