[ベルリン 27日 ロイター] – German Defense Minister Pistorius said in an interview with Süddeutsche Zeitung on Sunday that the size of the €100 billion ($108 billion) special defense fund is no longer enough to meet needs.
He said the annual defense budget would also need to be raised by 50 billion euros.
He also highlighted the need to replenish defense equipment, including replacing the 14 Leopard 2 main battle tanks to be delivered to Ukraine.
As for the fighter planes that Ukraine is seeking as the next military aid, he denied that the supply would be “impossible.”
“A fighter is a much more complex system than a main battle tank,” he said. “You are stepping into the dimension I am warning you about,” he said.
