GH Bank warns customers to send SMS to deceive loans

The Bank of Thailand warns people to borrow from “GBH” SMS is not related to the bank.

The Government Housing Bank (GHB) warns people in case someone sends an SMS message using the sender’s name “GBH” stating “You can borrow 3600,000 from us” with a link attached. This may cause people to misunderstand because the sender’s name is similar to the SMS from the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, which uses the name “GHBank” or GHBSmart”.

The Bank of Thailand confirms that the SMS messages from “GBH” are not related to the Bank. There is no policy to send SMS to inform the loan limit or invite the general public to borrow in any way.
