Boeing (BA.US) said on Wednesday that the Boeing 737 MAX successfully flew in China last month and hopes to lift the two-year ban before the end of this year.Sherry Carbary, President of Boeing China, said that the test flight is proceeding smoothly. The company will cooperate with the Civil Aviation Administration of China to screen the data and confirm the final report before deciding whether the Boeing 737 MAX can go back and forth.
According to people familiar with the matter, the current Boeing 737 MAX ban has been lifted in the West and in many Asian countries, and China may relax this ban in November.
It is reported that the Boeing 737 MAX was grounded in March 2019 after two fatal air crashes. Prior to this, a quarter of Boeing’s annual production of aircraft was sold to China.
