New Delhi: A Malayalee was arrested in Manipur with a gold alloy worth Rs 42 lakh. Mohammad Sharif, a native of Kozhikode, was arrested by the CISF at the Imphal airport with 909.68 grams of gold. He tried to smuggle the gold in four packets in his anus.
Sharif was scheduled to board an Imphal-Delhi Air India flight at 2.40 pm on Monday. He was questioned on suspicion during the security check. After giving contradictory answers, X-rays were also performed. The gold was then found hidden inside the anus.
