The next update for Gran Turismo 7 has been officially confirmed, bringing three distinct vehicles to the game’s expanding roster on April 23, 2026. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi revealed the additions via social media, confirming the inclusion of the Renault Twingo, Porsche 964 Turbo S, and Yangwang U9. This update continues the game’s tradition of blending accessible classics with high-performance machines, offering players a diverse driving experience that spans urban practicality, vintage engineering, and cutting-edge electric performance.

The Renault Twingo represents a return to one of Europe’s most recognizable city cars, originally launched in the 1990s and celebrated for its innovative cabin layout and compact dimensions. Its inclusion in Gran Turismo 7 adds a touch of everyday European motoring to the garage, appealing to fans of lightweight, agile vehicles suited for tight city streets and technical circuits. While not a performance flagship, the Twingo’s presence underscores the game’s broader appeal beyond supercars and track-focused machines.

The Porsche 964 Turbo S stands out as a rare and significant addition, marking the first appearance of any 964-generation Turbo S variant in the Gran Turismo series. Based on the 911 platform produced between 1989 and 1994, the 964 Turbo S was developed as a lightweight, homologation-inspired model, with only 86 units of the 3.3-liter Leichtbau version built in 1992. A later 3.6-liter variant saw limited production for the U.S. And Japanese markets. Its inclusion offers players access to a piece of Porsche history that is seldom seen in video games, combining turbocharged performance with the raw, analog feel of early 1990s sports car engineering.

Perhaps the most surprising reveal is the Yangwang U9, specifically the standard production model rather than the anticipated U9 Xtreme variant. While teasers had suggested the ultra-high-performance Xtreme version — which boasts 2,977 horsepower and holds the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for electric vehicles at 6:59.157 — Yamauchi confirmed that the base U9 will be included instead. This model still delivers formidable performance with 1,270 horsepower from four in-wheel motors and features Yangwang’s distinctive diagonal lift system, capable of raising or lowering individual wheels and even jumping the vehicle off the ground. The decision to include the standard U9 over the Xtreme variant highlights a focus on accessible innovation within the hypercar segment.

All three vehicles are set to arrive as part of the same update, scheduled for release on April 23, 2026. No additional details regarding pricing, in-game events, or associated challenges have been disclosed at this time. The update reinforces Gran Turismo 7’s ongoing strategy of expanding its vehicle list with meaningful additions that reflect both automotive heritage and technological progress, ensuring a varied experience for players across different driving preferences and interests.
