The new tailor-made 2022 model “STEALTH series” has been announced and has become very popular at the reservation stage.
Therefore, this time, we asked golf writer Hirotaka Tsuruhara to explain the features of the latest stealth series driver, Fairway Wood, Rescue Iron.
The tailor-made 2022 stealth series is very popular at the reservation stage, and I personally think that the driver will be the number one seller this year.
There are three models of stealth series drivers.
The most standard model is the stealth driver.
Next is the stealth HD driver. “HD” is an acronym for Hydro, which is a model that rises high and is easy to catch, with the center of gravity slightly closer to the heel side.
The other is the Stealth PLUS driver, which is sold exclusively at the Select Fit Store.
Attention is the stealth PLUS driver. It is equipped with a 10g sliding weight that can change the position of the center of gravity in the left-right direction. This was also installed in the original SIM driver.
Not only the merit of adjusting the center of gravity, but also the weight placed on the face side makes it the front center of gravity, and you can hit a strong ball that does not indulge even if a hard hitter hits it.
As a model that was not in the previous SIM 2, it is a model that seems to have revived from the era of the first SIM. I personally think that hard hitters will buy a new one for this purpose.
The characteristic is that the face material is carbon (60X carbon twist face).
The part that looks red is coated with polyurethane. When you touch it, it also has a rough texture, and it is a driver that has been devised to enable the optimum spin amount under any circumstances such as when it gets wet in the rain.
The great thing about this stealth series is that despite the carbon face and the face area being a little larger, the air resistance is lower than the previous SIM2.
Using the latest materials, the head structure and materials are quite different from the previous work, but when you hold it, it is easy to hold as before and the feeling is the same.
The face is also bigger and more resistant to miss hits, making it a series of drivers that have evolved in various parts.
I’m worried about the feeling of hitting with the carbon face, but when I hit it, it doesn’t feel like carbon at all. It doesn’t feel carbon so much that you won’t notice it unless you tell it, and it has a feel similar to SIM2.
If you hit it with open air, you will feel better. This time, the head was developed by researching the feeling of hitting, so there should be no problem with the feeling of hitting.
Two models of fairway wood are available as before. The standard stealth fairway wood is a C300 stainless steel fairway wood.
Another model is the Stealth PLUS Fairway Wood. Like the driver, the model with the name PLUS is a model sold exclusively at the Select Fit Store, and the head is a little small and made of titanium.
PLUS also has a clatter, and the standard model is glued.
Speaking of the conventional model, the stealth fairway wood is the successor to the SIM2 MAX fairway wood.
The successor model to the previous SIM2 fairway wood is the stealth PLUS fairway wood. I hope you will remember that PLUS is a model with a slightly special feeling.
TaylorMade names the utility Rescue. The most unusual point is that the crown part of the rescue is also made of carbon material. Although the area is very small, the extra weight is rearranged because the crown part is made of carbon, and the head has a lower and deeper center of gravity.
There is also a stealth PLUS rescue. This is a model for advanced users with a smaller head than the standard model, and will be sold exclusively at the Select Fit Store.
There is also a new model called Stealth Iron. This is the successor to the SIM2 MAX iron in the previous work, but the design of the back face has changed so much that there is no shadow to see the SIM2 MAX.
It looks very clean, which is closer to the image of the tailor-made P series.
The head looks a little bigger when you hold it. The technology inherits SIM2 MAX, but it looks neat and cool.
Looking at the new stealth series as a whole, I get the impression that many tailor-made PGA contract professionals are playing an active role. I wondered if the athlete taste that they could be satisfied with had increased.
Rather than for beginners, I felt that it was a series for intermediate / advanced players and those who love golf clubs. If you love golf clubs, try out the new stealth series and if the results are good, you can buy it.
