Guardiola: ‘It is an honor for Vieira to return to the Etihad Stadium’

by news dir

Manager Pep Guardiola said it was an honor to face Patrick Vieira in the match against Christab Palace.

After spending most of his career at Arsenal, France World Cup winning member Patrick Vieira ended his football career at CITY, helping them win the 2011 FA Cup.

Afterwards, Vieira played an important role with the club before taking over as head coach of the EDS team, staying with City Football Group, continuing her managerial experience with New York City in 2016.

After a further coaching career in Nice, France, Vieira, who took over at Crystal Palace this summer, has made a lot of changes to the team’s style and has been producing good results.

During his time as Bayern Munich manager, he faced Vieira, but Pep Guardiola said he was looking forward to seeing him again at Manchester.

“It is an honor to see him again in Manchester. He’s an important part of Arsenal’s history and what he did there was outstanding.”

“I was fortunate to meet him later in New York. I’m glad he’s back from the Premier League and he’s doing well.”

“In the last games we played against tough teams. But his team showed their ability.”

“You can’t even imagine what an honor it would be to have a player like Patrick come to Munich.”

“He is this type of player and person who worked for world football. Not just on the pitch. It’s an honor.”

“Vieira has dynamically changed the way the Palace is played. Opponents have always had good players and this match will be a real test.”

“I look forward to meeting him.”

The match against Crystal Palace will be their first match since losing to West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

After winning the title four years in a row, Manchester City have been eliminated from the competition for the first time since October 2016, which is a remarkable record.

However, manager Pep Guardiola was confident he would make a perfect rebound after the last match.

“The loss was in the news because we had won four years in a row.”

“Playing in that competition until the very end and winning a lot of it didn’t affect other competitions.”

“I would have liked to have continued in that competition. Because of the achievements in the Premier League and Champions League. Including the FA Cup. I won once and made it to the quarterfinals. We’re used to running once every two or three days.”

“Congratulations to West Ham for making it to the next round.”

“We will not play in the Carabao Cup, we will prepare for the next matches.”

“Are you okay with dropping out? It’s the complete opposite. We can handle such situations. You can’t always win.”

“It’s part of the game. In football or in any sport. Usually there are more defeats than victories.”
