Hackers distributed Trojans through Huawei AppGallery, 9.3 million Android devices were infected

Huawei’s own application platform “AppGallery” has security vulnerabilities. According to foreign media reports, Doctor Web, a Russian information security company, discovered that malicious Trojan horse programs were distributed through the Huawei AppGallery platform. At least 9.3 million Android devices are expected to be infected.

The Trojan horse program can be directly integrated into the Android program through arcade, strategy, shooting and other games. Directly steal device information, including the user’s mobile phone number, the location of the device using GPS, mobile network or Wi-Fi hotspots, and technical specifications, so as to send advertisements to the user to earn money.

Doctor Web named its Trojan horse program “Android.Cynos.7.origin” after discovering it. It is estimated that the program has invaded 190 different mobile games. At present, 9.3 million Android users have installed related games.

After receiving notification from Doctor Web, Huawei has removed all 190 games from the shelves. Huawei officials also remind users to delete suspicious game programs on their phones immediately to avoid malicious intrusions on their phones.
