Alappuzha: BJP leader Sandeep Wachaspati has questioned AA Rahim over the DYFI’s decision to organize a food street in the halal controversy under the slogan ‘Food has no religion’. . The message that DYFI wants to convey to the community through this program is that mixing religion with food is not in line with a progressive society. Sandeep said that this was a very good thing and added that his Facebook post was to point out that a serious error had been made in the poster.

DYFI: ‘Food has no religion’; DYFI with Food Street in Halal Controversy

Sandeep’s spokesperson asked AA Rahim eight questions: “Do those who put halal boards in hotels mix religion with food, and maybe there will be pork on the food street run by DYFI because religion has no place in food?”

Full version of Sandeep Vachaspati’s Facebook post

Dear AA Rahim, AA Rahim has learned that DYFI is organizing an event called ‘Food Street’ against mixing religion in food. Very good thing. The message that DYFI wants to convey to the community through this program is that mixing religion with food is not in line with a progressive society. But I am writing to point out that a serious mistake has been made in the poster prepared for the event. Rahim knows that the word halal is related to Islam. Halal means permissible in Islam. I hope Rahim answers some of my doubts in that situation. 1. Are there people who put halal boards in hotels, mix religion in their food, or say no to it? 2. Aren’t those who insist on eating only halal food mixing religion with food? 3. Isn’t halal food a kind of ritual? 4. Isn’t the religion of food cooking only according to the Qur’an? 5. When that happens, shouldn’t the DYFI protest be against the promoters of halal food? 6. Since religion has no place in food, there will be pork in the ‘Food Street’ run by DYFI, right? 7. Does the saying that food is edible only if Ustad blows the mantra belong to the secular society? 8. Isn’t it extremism to say that spitting in food is in accordance with the Qur’an and that it is enough to eat if necessary? When we ask these questions honestly, we realize that it is not the Sangh Parivar but the Muslim extremists who are mixing religion in the diet. Then you will realize the serious mistake that went into your poster. If your politics are sincere and do justice to the slogan you are raising, I hope the poster will be edited soon. If so, let me know that I am ready to join this struggle. Otherwise, it has to be said that this is a halal strike.

Sandeep Vachaspati with love
