Han Dong-hoon’s appointment force winds up… Intensifying confrontation between the ruling and opposition parties

◀ anchor ▶

President Yoon Seok-yeol emphasized cooperation in his municipal administration speech yesterday, but the confrontation between the ruling and opposition parties is rather intensifying over the appointment of Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon and the appointment of the presidential secretary.

While the Democratic Party repeatedly pressed for the withdrawal of one candidate’s nomination, the people’s power actively covered it, saying there was no reason for disqualification.

When it was announced that President Yoon Seok-yeol would push for the appointment of Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon as early as today, the Democratic Party was furious.

He criticized that the appointment of a minister of a candidate who failed the national examination would act as a bomb in the management of the state, and that he overturned parliamentaryism within a day after President Yoon emphasized cooperation.

“I strongly urge once again to withdraw the nominations of ineligible persons such as Han Dong-hoon and Kim Hyun-sook, who will go beyond the public eye and act as a bomb of national conflict.”

The Democratic Party also urged the withdrawal of appointments for Yoon Jae-soon, secretary for general affairs, who was embroiled in sexual misconduct, and Lee Si-won, secretary for public service discipline, who was disciplined for being involved in a case of espionage.

These are people who can’t even go up to the personnel inspection team, let alone appoint them, and criticized harshly for rectifying the personnel disaster as soon as possible.

In response, the People’s Power countered that it would not be appropriate to unilaterally condemn the secretaries of the presidential office.

Today, at the National Assembly Steering Committee, he said that he should listen to Yoon Jae-soon himself, and he drew a line that it is a matter to decide whether to resign after examining public opinion as it is an art field about the distorted gender perception controversy revealed in the past collection of poems.

In addition, in the case of Justice Minister candidate Han Dong-hoon, he said that there was no problem in his appointment, saying that he did not find any problems in morality and ability.

“I have to appoint Han Dong-hoon, because it is wrong for the Democratic Party to decide that it was inappropriate just because it was conducting an investigation against them.”

President Yoon Seok-yeol also avoided an immediate answer, saying he would review it on his way to work today.

(I wonder if you plan to proceed with the procedure for the appointment of Minister Dong-Hoon Han today.)

“Something hasn’t arrived until yesterday, so I’ll go back to work later and review it.”

The ruling and opposition parties are discussing the plenary session schedule for the approval of Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, but the opposition parties are strongly demanding that candidates such as Dong-hoon Han and Ho-young Jeong be eliminated.
