Kollam: A scuffle broke out between activists attending a CPM branch meeting in Kollam. The handcuffing and stabbing took place at the Chembanpoyka branch meeting under the Kollam Kottarakkara Area Committee. During the clash, an activist pulled out a knife inserted in his waist.

It is learned that this was a continuation of the problem within the Branch Committee during the last local body elections. The dispute was over allegations that two of the five expelled from the Branch Committee had already attended the branch meeting. The suspended branch meeting will be held later.
