A Boise woman shot a burglar she got on her porch, trying to break into her front door on Thursday night.

In a press release Friday, Boise police said the woman had heard noise and then she noticed that her front door was ajar. So she grabbed her gun before she went to inquire.

She confronted the man on his front porch and once suffered the gun, the police said. He fled the scene.

The police found evidence that the burglar had a premium bar to try to open the door. They searched the suspect with a dog and a drone but he didn't find it.

The incident occurred at a house on Walnut Street and Warm Springs Avenue. A police report was called better at around 10:24 p.m.

The woman was unable to give a good description of the suspect. Residents in the area with home surveillance cameras who may have recorded anything significant are asked to contact the police last night.
