Hanwha Ocean-Babcock Canada is a partner in maritime defense business… Signing a technical cooperation agreement with MoneyS

Hanwha Ocean will step out to strengthen Canada’s defense business at MADEX 2023, the largest defense exhibition in Korea.

Hanwha Ocean announced on the 7th that it has signed a ‘Technical Cooperation Agreement’ with Babcock Canada for the successful implementation of Canadian defense projects. The event was attended by officials from both companies, including Vice Chairman Kwon Hyuk-ung of Hanwha Ocean and John Howie, chief executive officer of Babcock International Group.

This technical cooperation agreement has the meaning of expanding the MOU signed between Hanwha Ocean and Babcock International Group last year. It marks the preparation of the cornerstone for the successful progress of the Canadian ship project, and shows the willingness of the two companies to cooperate actively. Both companies will do their best to achieve successful business in Canada through this collaboration.

Based on its state-of-the-art submarine construction technology, Hanwha Ocean plans to participate in future design, construction and logistics support projects in the Canadian naval shipbuilding business. Babcock Canada intends to cooperate with Hanwha Ocean by using the experience and expertise it has accumulated in carrying out maintenance projects exclusively for Victoria-class submarines.
